Database Administrator 7648S
Location: Overland Park, KS
Description: The selected Database Administrator will be responsible for modeling, tuning, developing and maintaining high usage databases in SQL Server and Oracle. He/she will manage smaller projects independently and be able to learn the data well enough to suggest ideas to leverage the data in other or new products. Common tasks will include importing data from various data sources including automating those processes. He/she will also be responsible for tuning databases for optimal Web traffic and other application traffic.
What is expected:
An ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience in database architecture and a BS or MS in Computer Science. His/her experience must encompass designing complex database models using technologies like Erwin or Visio, tuning SQL Server and/or Oracle databases including administrating SQL Server (Indexes, DTS, etc...), importing, exporting and managing data in Oracle. Experience also will include T-SQL development and expertise developing and deploying SSIS and administrating SQL Server Reporting Services. Expertise with common source control tools such as Visual Source Safe or CVS is also expected. Basic navigation knowledge of Unix/Linux is also expected. He/she also must have a strong understanding of the software development process and the various roles and responsibilities to create enterprise applications with the ability to cross over into some of these roles when needed.
