.NET Developer 7614S

Location: Overland Park, KS

Description: The selected software engineer will provide support for legacy and packaged applications in the Microsoft-windows environment. He/she will initially be primarily support with a transition to part-time support and part-time development within the first year. In addition to support, he/she will be developing or enhancing software components in place in the enterprise. Tasks will include:

  • Gather requirements for new functionality to be added or modified & create the appropriate documentation.
  • Create technical designs for .NET and SQL Server components with the appropriate documentation.
  • Develop or modify C#.Net, ASP.Net applications and Transact SQL stored procedures.
  • Troubleshoot data consistency and accuracy questions and resolve the issues by executing SQL Server commands or by modifying existing processes.
  • Evaluate existing Microsoft-Access, VB.Net and Visual Basic processes and recommend migration paths to C#.Net and SQL Server.
  • Conduct unit and system testing for all modifications.
  • Provide support for existing processes consisting of Microsoft-Access, Visual Basic and SQL Server.

What will be expected:

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years experience in ASP.NET, C#.NET and XML parsing, plus have solid SQL querying capabilities and knowledge of SQL Server databases. Experience with VBA, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Access are a plus for this position. All new development will be done in C#.NET. The candidate will need strong analytical, design and troubleshooting skills. Must be hands-on, technically proficient, customer and service-oriented. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is mandatory. Preferred skills include VB.NET, Visual Basic or Java and knowledge of SQL Server database design and query tuning.
