SQL Server Analyst 6974S
Location: Kansas City, MO
Description: The selected SQL Server analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and Crystal Reports as well as managing SQL databases. He/she will interact with legacy software in coordinating data transfer to the SQL Server – both production and development. He/she also is responsible for generating various custom reports required by customers and employees. Role will include:
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s database
- Resolves database performance issues and database capacity issues
- Create new custom reports or make modifications to existing reports in Microsoft SQL Reporting Services or Crystal Reports and maintain existing reports to make them work more efficiently
- Create new SQL database tables and maintain existing SQL database tables, create/maintain stored procedures and DTS packages
- Create new scheduled SQL jobs for nightly data transfer from legacy systems to the SQL database
- Create scheduled SQL jobs to extract files in various formats for clients
- Interact with legacy systems in any data transfer process and troubleshoot any data discrepancies
What is expected:
The selected candidate needs to have a solid foundation of work as a developer and analyst in SQL Server 2000. This will include the ability to manage SQL Server 2000 and maintain database backups, write stored procedures, DTS packages, triggers and manage indexes and create data replication between servers. A working knowledge for SQL Reporting services or Crystal Reports is also expected. The incumbent must be able to work across all levels of the business from gathering and understanding business demands to delivery of solutions and reports that meet those demands. He/she will be expected to work with minimal supervision and be customer service oriented.
