SQL Server DBA 7606S
Location: Kansas City, MO
Description: The Production/Data Warehouse DBA is responsible for the OLTP and OLAP SQL Server databases. Tasks will include management, monitoring and administration of database and system performance including optimization and tuning of data loads and extractions. He/she will also be responsible for recommending appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability. This will include analyzing business and technical requirements, as well as data warehouse data models, to understand the detailed data management requirements. The person will also responsible for database backup, recovery, and security of the ERP/DW databases.
What is expected:
Skills that will serve the DBA include a strong background in supporting Windows and SQL Server-based systems with expertise in typical tools used supporting those systems such as SQL Enterprise Manager/SQL Management Studio, T-SQL, Query Editor & SQL Profiler and Analyzer. Expertise with T-SQL, triggers and stored procedure optimization will be necessary. He/she also will need experience with index design and maintenance. He/she needs to be able to participate in on-call pager support.
This client has several datawarehouses in place, so SQL Clustering experience along with expertise in SQL Server on a SAN (EMC a plus) or other data warehouse experience would help secure this position.
