Location: Overland Park, KS
Description: The selected SQL Developer will be a key member on a team building applications from scratch that meet business demands. Many manual process and ad hoc legacy applications will be replaced by data-driven systems that must not only meet the user’s needs, but also must be accepted and used enterprise-wide by potentially tens of thousands of individuals. The selected candidate will work closely with the project management and analyst team along with the business management and key stakeholder groups to assess needs, develop proposals to meet those needs, execute on agreed plans, deploy the system and help with user acceptance and adaptation. He/she will serve as the sole technical resource on this team, so he/she will need to rely on their knowledge and ability to learn and adapt to uncover solutions that will meet the needs of a diverse user community.
What will be expected:
The selected candidate must have a strong analytical mind and be able to understand data and how it relates to various business processes and demands. He/she need to be able to work a solution that will not only meet the immediate needs of the organization, but also be able to look at the bigger picture and build systems appropriately. Technically, no platform has been selected as of yet, but client has available SQL Server licenses and that product should be able to meet most, if not all the requirements of the business. The candidate must have a firm understanding of all aspects of the logical and physical design of relational data and be able to build a robust system from cradle to grave. He/she will need to have extensive experience with data migration including transformation, cleansing and loading. He/she will also need skills in performance tuning, security, backup/recovery and other production issues. Finally, it is very important that he/she is able to develop a system that provides reporting to different parts of the organizations which have diverse interests in data set results.
