Technical Engagement Lead 7625S

Location: Kansas City

Description: The selected candidate will be a results-driven technical systems analyst focused on technical projects and partnering with project managers to handle critical path from a issue mitigation perspective. He/she must demonstrate a high awareness of the current critical path tasks and all responsible resources and have the ability to break down technical tasks into manageable milestones to ensure successful completion. The right candidate will pay close attention to the technical details, ask value-added and issue avoidance questions, focus on deliverables, and ensure the end product matches what the client is truly asking for.

The right candidate will listen intently to customer requirements and translate the business needs into technical solutions. He/she will have the knowledge and ability to temporarily fill roles outside of their normal job function demonstrating their understanding of their own position and role of others across their cross-functional team. Candidates must be able to comprehend when the development team is not performing cohesively, efficiently, and effectively and demonstrate passion and dedication to meeting statement of work goals from business, technical, and internal perspectives.

The person in this position will partner internally and externally towards improving business and client relationships. He/she will help breakdown communication barriers and minimize message distortion between the client and development team. He/she must ensure everyone has an accurate understanding of the requirements in relation to the business needs, proactively uncover potential issues and roadblocks, and be able to propose viable solutions.

To be successful in this role the selected candidate must:

  • Be client-focused and listen to the client’s pulse in an effort to ensure project focus is 100% accurate given the current business needs and be willing to shift current focus to accommodate fluctuating business needs
  • Recommend ways that one project might better position or compliment a future project in the pipeline
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve moderately complex technical problems
  • Provide guidance, suggestions, and feedback to individuals, teams, and clients to ensure successful delivery
  • Consult with technical team and communicate decisions on behalf of the project team with clients and functional users on requirements, activities, and status
  • Work closely with the development team BSA/QA/Production Support/Data Architects to assure technical details are being met
  • Mitigate risk from technical perspective and communicate risks outside of deliverables as required

What is expected:

Current team members have well-developed client skills gained through a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems analysis and project execution. They have experience performing throughout the SDLC including development, architecture, resource management, and external customer-facing roles gaining knowledge of several current software development methodologies. A college degree is highly valued and experience with a major software consulting organization is a BIG plus. Other success factors for the team include:

  • Specific experience leading technical resources and engagements
  • Proven history displaying strong leadership skills at the team and engagement level
  • Proven ability to speak confidentially in situations with the client, the development team, and internal business groups. They MUST have the ability to filter and present appropriate information to the appropriate people at the right time
  • Proven track managing workload, deliverables, schedules, etc., at individual and team level
  • Ability to make critical task, engagement, and business decisions and identify and gather appropriate information to make these decisions and the ability to make these decisions instantaneously when required to provide direction for a task or engagement
