Community Involvement
RiverPoint actively supports the communities where our employees live and work through employee volunteering and charitable contributions. Corporate responsibility and community involvement are fundamental RiverPoint values and we believe our public service activities play an integral role in our continued success.
Below are some of the many ways we are involved in helping our communities:
Car Seat Program
RiverPoint’s Kansas City office, through the Truman Medical Center Charitable Foundation, provided funds to start an infant car seat program providing new car seats and training on proper use to families in need.
Habitat for Humanity
This non-profit organization builds simple, affordable housing for low-income families through the monetary and volunteer help of corporations. RiverPoint is a supporter of Habitat for Humanity and a participant in the Gifts from the Heart donation program. For over six years, RiverPoint has provided funds and services to assist in building a house through the Kaw Valley Habitat for Humanity organization.
Head for the Cure
RiverPoint is a proud sponsor and participant in the Head for the Cure 5K run and walk benefiting the Chris Anthony Brain Tumor Research Fund and Solace House, a center for grieving children and their families located in Kansas City.
Lakefront Supportive Housing
RiverPoint has been an active advocate of Lakefront Supportive Housing since 1999. Recently, RiverPoint organized a fundraising drive to help Lakefront achieve its goal of serving 20,000 people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming so, by the year 2010. Lakefront Supportive Housing has become a national model for ending homelessness, transforming lives, and building healthy communities. More information can be found at lakefront.org.
Open Door Education Foundation
RiverPoint is a founding member of the Open Door Education Foundation. The vision of the foundation is to improve people's lives by encouraging and enabling them to enter the IT industry. A stronger IT industry will, in turn, help America to remain the world leader in technology. RiverPoint has committed time and financial resources to the Open Door Education Foundation Web site.
United Way
As the nation's leading community solutions provider, United Way invests in and activates resources to make the greatest possible impact in communities across America. In the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, RiverPoint donated funds to United Way’s efforts to help children cope with loss, ready families facing military deployment, and assist families affected by layoffs and the economic impact of the attack.
